About The Position

Help connect people to recreation opportunities across Missoula. As a Recreation Transportation Facilitator, you’ll provide safe, reliable transportation for program participants while creating a positive and welcoming environment. This role is essential in helping individuals access recreational programs and activities by ensuring transportation is dependable, supportive, and participant-focused. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people, values safety, and takes pride in providing excellent service. Requirements

  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
  • Skill in driving in different types of conditions.
  • Skill in promoting positive and safe environments.
  • Skill in communicating, in person and writing, with the proven ability to establish and maintain positive effective working relationships with diverse individuals.
  • Ability to maintain and foster a culture of professionalism, adhere to departmental and City standards and specifications, and support a positive team environment.
  • Ability to accept criticism and resolve conflicts with facilitating outcomes while maintaining a calm demeanor.
  • Ability to learn departmental and City of Missoula practices and procedures.
  • At least one (1) year of work-related driving experience.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • A valid Montana driver’s license with a verified acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint background check.
  • CPR/First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Pick-up and drop-off program participants at designated locations.
  • Follow a planned route according to schedule
  • Help participants into and out of the vans.
  • Install car seats/booster seats when needed.
  • Obey traffic laws and state/federal transit regulations.
  • Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of vehicles, such as check tires, lights, fluids, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, based on training and qualifications.
