About The Position

This is a 12-week Summer Student Placement opportunity for a Case Aide within the Family & Community Support Services, specifically supporting the Child and Family Advocacy Unit (CFAU). The role involves providing administrative and program support, assisting Band Representatives, the Family Support Worker, and the Jordan’s Principle Case Manager with daily office tasks and service coordination. The student will also contribute to promoting awareness of CFAU programs and supporting children and families. Additional duties may be assigned to support overall unit operations and community wellness initiatives.

Requirements

  • Must demonstrate enrollment as a full-time student in the previous academic semester school and be returning full time in the fall of 2026/2027 Academic school year.
  • Must be eligible for Sagamok Anishnawbek ISETP program funding (member of Sagamok, valid SIN #)
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain First Aid, WHIMIS, & Health and Safety in 4 Steps
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and email software
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, and be self-motivated.
  • Knowledge of and respect for Anishnawbek values, teachings, culture, and traditions is of critical importance.
  • Must sign and comply with confidentiality requirements
  • Must provide a Criminal Record Check prior to employment

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to members or residents of Sagamok Anishnawbek
  • Valid driver’s license is an asset
  • Preference will be given to those applicants enrolled in health, recreational and/or human services.

Responsibilities

  • Providing support to the Child and Family Advocacy Unit
  • Assisting with administration duties within the office
  • Assisting Band Reps, the Family Support Worker and the Jordan’s Principle Case Manager with administration duties
  • Promote awareness of the Child and Family Advocacy Unit team and the programs that are offered within the unit
  • Working with the children & families to provide support to the CFAU team
  • Perform other duties as assigned
