About The Position

The Summer Student will support daily operations and community programs by assisting with a variety of tasks and activities. This role is ideal for someone reliable, flexible, and willing to learn in a hands-on environment.

Requirements

  • Must demonstrate enrollment as a full-time student in the previous academic semester school and be returning full time in the fall of 2026/2027 Academic school year.
  • Must be eligible for Sagamok Anishnawbek ISETP program funding (member of Sagamok, valid SIN #)
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain First Aid, WHIMIS, & Health and Safety in 4 Steps
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and email software
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, and able to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends) and be self-motivated.
  • Knowledge of and respect for Anishnawbek values, teachings, culture, and traditions is of critical importance.
  • Must sign and comply with confidentiality requirements
  • Must provide a Criminal Record Check prior to employment

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to members or residents of Sagamok Anishnawbek
  • Valid driver’s license is an asset
  • Preference will be given to students who qualify for the ISET Subsidy Program

Responsibilities

  • Assist with community events, ceremonies, and activities
  • Help with the setup and cleanup of community-owned buildings for cultural events
  • Support general labour tasks, including hauling and delivering materials as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces and event areas
  • Follow instructions and work collaboratively with team members
