Summer Shop Hand
About The Position
Total Oilfield Rentals (TOR) offers rental and transportation of drilling, completion and production equipment to the oil and natural gas industry throughout Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. Our mission is to exceed customer expectations by supplying superior rental equipment, transportation services and product support. The Summer Shop Hand, reporting to the Shop Foreman, will be responsible for organizing parts and shop, completing deliveries, and cleaning and maintaining shop equipment and tools. This is a temporary position based out of our Leduc location, with the assignment expected to end at the end of August.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a shop or similar
Responsibilities
- Organizing parts and shop
- Complete deliveries
- Clean and maintain shop equipment and tools
- Receive, understand and execute instructions from Shop Foreman and senior employees
- Clean equipment and tools using high-power pressure washer
- Disassemble equipment, if needed, to thoroughly clean
- Identify faulty/damaged equipment and/or defective materials and inform supervisor of issues
- Determine the correct type of tools/equipment to be used for a specific task
- Utilize checklists, inspections, work procedures and safety guidelines to complete tasks
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the shop, including work areas and common spaces
