About The Position

The Summer Seasonal Racquet Sports Professional supports the daily operations of the club’s racquet sports program by providing high-quality instruction, facilitating clinics and events, and delivering exceptional member service. This role is ideal for a college student with a passion for racquet sports who is interested in gaining hands-on teaching and club operations experience in a private country club environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled college student (or recent graduate).
  • Strong playing background in tennis and/or pickleball and/or padel.
  • Comfortable working with children, adults, and families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and peak hours.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, able to share ideas, and implements plans without significant oversight.
  • Proficient level of computer knowledge.
  • Enthusiastic and energetic on court.
  • Team-oriented and coachable.
  • Dependable, punctual, and organized.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in coaching, sports management with the club industry.
  • Attendance required at staff meetings and club training.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching, coaching, or camp counselor experience.
  • Basic certification or progress toward certification (PTR, RSPA, PPR, etc.).
  • CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience in a service-related field, preferably at exclusive private country club’s environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with or lead private lessons, group clinics, and junior programs.
  • Work with players of all ages and skill levels in tennis and/or pickleball.
  • Support summer camps, leagues, mixers, and special events.
  • Assist with player development and on-court drills.
  • Provide a welcoming, professional, and engaging experience for members and guests.
  • Promote club programs and encourage participation.
  • Maintain positive relationships with members and fellow staff.
  • Play in member’s games and events when requested by the director.
  • Assist with court scheduling and basic event setup.
  • Ensure courts and teaching areas are safe, clean, and organized.
  • Help with ball machines, baskets, and equipment maintenance.
  • Assist maintenance staff on facility and court maintenance as needed.
  • Assist the Director and full-time staff with daily operations.
  • Help with program check-ins, attendance, and basic record-keeping.
  • Support retail or pro shop needs when assigned.
  • Racquet stringing.
