Summer Recreation Aide
About The Position
Under the direct supervision of the Recreation Leader and Recreation Specialist, this role involves limited decision-making with an expectation of good sound judgment in maintaining discipline when controlling the activities of recreation program participants. This work requires weekend, night, and/or some holidays. Essential functions may include monitoring game rooms and other activities at a City recreation center, maintaining cleanliness of assigned areas, instructing and teaching children of all ages, and performing related or assigned work.
Requirements
- MUST be 16 years of age or older
- Must be able to pass a rigid background investigation including work history, criminal records, driving records and other records deemed necessary.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen administered by a City of Artesia designated facility.
Nice To Haves
- Applicants with prior related experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Monitors game rooms and other similar activities at a City recreation center.
- Maintains cleanliness of assigned areas.
