The Recreation Aide position is responsible for monitoring and directing students engaged in center-sponsored recreational activities, both on and off-center, ensuring compliance with government and management directives.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Computer proficiency required
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

One year experience preferred

Responsibilities

Assist the supervisor, recreation in planning, implementing and coordinating a comprehensive and diversified program which will attract voluntary participation
Organize and supervise student participation in a variety of recreation/avocation activities and extended day learning activities
Conduct recreation and avocation classes and activities
Chaperone students to center recreation functions
Assist in the development of the new enrollee recreation activities and plans
Conduct intergroup recreation activities as part of the diversity program
Maintain a safe and clean environment by conducting daily cleaning duties
Distribute mail daily to students
Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers
Participate in student employability programs and activities
Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy
Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions
Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices
