The Recreation Aide is responsible for monitoring and directing students engaged in center-sponsored recreational activities on and off-center, in compliance with government and management directives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • one year experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monitoring and directing students engaged in center-sponsored recreational activities on and off-center, in compliance with government and management directives.
  • Assist the supervisor, recreation in planning, implementing and coordinating a comprehensive and diversified program which will attract voluntary participation
  • Organize and supervise student participation in a variety of recreation/avocation activities and extended day learning activities
  • Conduct recreation and avocation classes and activities
  • Chaperone students to center recreation functions
  • Assist in the development of the new enrollee recreation activities and plans.
  • Conduct intergroup recreation activities as part of the diversity program
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment by conducting daily cleaning duties
  • Distribute mail daily to students
  • Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers
  • Participate in student employability programs and activities
  • Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy
  • Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions
  • Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices
