About The Position

CFP Board invites students who are eager to work on real-world projects in collaboration with key business leaders across the organization. You will be empowered to build community, explore your passion and build your business acumen. It is a chance to see the inner workings of a thriving non-profit organization that is committed to excellence. In this role, interns will be assigned to teams based on their educational background and interests and will use their skills and experience to contribute to projects designed to develop business strategy. The Summer Internship program will be 8 weeks from June 1 – July 24. Interns must be available Monday – Friday 8:30 – 5:00 and will be expected to maintain a hybrid work schedule (Tuesday – Thursday in office). Below is a list of departments who could potentially host an intern for the summer. In a cover letter submitted along with your resume, please list your top 3 preferences for where you will be placed. Professional Standards & Legal: Responsible for providing effective legal and business advice, maintaining and enforcing trademarks and setting and enforcing compliance with ethics standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assists CFP Board staff in conducting departmental functions and special projects. Develops and coordinates reports, correspondence, and other related materials under guidance.
  • Participates in planning, organizing, and executing actions necessary to accomplish both short- and long-term departmental goals. Supports the resolution of issues, provides recommendations, and completes assigned projects.
  • Provides project management support by monitoring milestones, goals, and target dates while evaluating progress against established schedules. Identifies potential problem areas and recommends corrective actions to ensure project success.
  • Observes meetings, interactions with stakeholders to gain an understanding of organizational processes and relationships. Disseminates relevant information to appropriate staff and assists in organizing and scheduling events, meetings, and collaborations with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Provides assistance in planning, monitoring, and conducting special studies, projects, and initiatives. Evaluates project results and makes recommendations to improve processes and procedures.
  • Attends training sessions and engages in activities designed to enhance professional competencies and technical skills.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, requiring exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
