Unpaid volunteer contributing time to Intermountain Healthcare in various roles. The Summer Junior Volunteer program runs from June 1 – August 15. Volunteers are required to attend one day each week for 3 hours. This program is open to those ages 15-17 ONLY. The Summer program provides an opportunity for high school aged volunteers to have the experience of being in a hospital environment and providing service to others. Junior volunteers will be paired with an experienced volunteer at the Information Desk. Information Desk volunteers assist patients and visitors by providing directions, escorting patients to appointments and helping with wheelchairs as needed. Junior Volunteers may also play piano or other acoustic instruments if qualified. Music volunteers are required to play for 1 hour, one day per week. A Mandatory Volunteer Orientation will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 5:30-7pm. You must be able to attend this orientation to become a summer volunteer. Parents are welcome to attend this meeting with their child to gain an understanding of the program and its requirements. We recognize that summer is full of camps, classes and family vacations. In order to become a Junior Volunteer at Riverton Hospital you must be able to commit to being at your assigned shift for the summer, missing no more than 2 shifts between June 1 and August 15. Makeup shifts may be provided for extenuating circumstances. Information Desk shifts are available Monday thru Friday in three hour shifts from 9:a.m. -Noon; or Noon-3 p.m.; Volunteers may choose the day and shift that works best with their schedule. This position is for candidates between the ages of 15- 17 years of age only Music Volunteers may be 14 years of age.
