About The Position

This position is for Summer Jump Start Teachers for rising 6th graders. The work year is Summer 2026, with effective dates of employment from July 6, 2026, to July 31, 2026, Monday through Friday. Multiple teachers are needed for the Whitcomb location, with working hours from 7:45 am to 1:15 pm, which includes prep time. The compensation is a $5,000 stipend.

Requirements

• Licensed by the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education as a Teacher for appropriate grades taught
• Bachelor’s or higher earned academic degree

Nice To Haves

• Ability to effectively communicate in Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare for and conduct academic experiences for students enrolled in the program
• Maintain student attendance and submit to Summer Building Administrator at the conclusion of the summer program
• Promote learning and growth of all students providing high-quality instruction, authentic and meaningful student assessments, analyzing student data, using data to improve instruction, continuously provide students with constructive feedback, and continuously refine learning objectives.
• Maintains instructional practices that establish high expectations, create a safe and effective learning environment, and demonstrate cultural proficiency.
• Effectively partner with families, caregivers, community members, and organizations to promote learning.
• Maintains an ethical, culturally proficient, skilled, and collaborative practice as a professional educator.
• Communicates with families.
• Responsible for other general duties as indicated by the building administrator, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Marlborough School Committee.
