A Master Teacher is required to perform a variety of duties including teaching up to 3 class periods of a core subject, utilizing communication to foster commitment and urgency for organizational goals, and providing leadership in group processes like consensus building and conflict resolution. The role involves maintaining high expectations for students and staff, modeling school culture through classroom presence, and leading the implementation of the GEO Prep Academy instructional model, including rotational blended learning. Key responsibilities also include developing instructional and academic improvement plans, continuously analyzing data to create targeted interventions for student success, and leading weekly data team meetings. The Master Teacher will read lesson plans and provide feedback, locate and model research-based strategies, and lead the teacher support and development system. They are expected to articulate student performance goals, assist teachers in goal setting, conduct classroom evaluations and walkthroughs, and communicate teacher performance to the principal, assisting in the development of individual growth plans. Collaboration with teachers and administrators, attending staff meetings, participating in staff development, and performing other duties as assigned by a supervisor are also part of the role.
