Summer Internship
About The Position
AgTexas offers a 10-week summer internship providing hands-on experience in agricultural credit, lending, and loan administration, as well as exposure to other areas of the business. Interns travel throughout the Association’s 43-county territory to interact with branch staff, customers, and agricultural producers, and learn from AgTexas team members while experiencing the company’s culture and day-to-day operations. Interns complete an independent credit-based project and collaborate on a group project involving data gathering, trend analysis, and recommendations to present to senior and executive leadership. The program provides exposure to credit analysis, loan structuring, lending decisions, loan portfolio management, financial risk assessment, lending compliance, rural home and construction loans, loan processing and servicing, administrative support, appraisals, and crop insurance. Each intern is paired with a mentor for guidance and feedback.
Responsibilities
- Travel throughout AgTexas’s 43-county territory and interact with branch staff, customers, and agricultural producers.
- Learn about agricultural credit, lending, loan administration, and other business functions through hands-on experience and shadowing.
- Work independently on a credit-based project.
- Collaborate with fellow interns to gather data, analyze trends, and develop recommendations for senior and executive leadership.
- Present group-project findings and recommendations to senior and executive leadership.
- Engage with a mentor and team members to apply learning to real-world scenarios.
