About The Position

JKC offers a 2027 summer internship for a student or recent graduate pursuing a field related to construction management or civil engineering. The internship provides an opportunity to gain knowledge and work experience and to build relationships with construction industry professionals. Work is performed under supervision and may take place in the field or office. The usual schedule is 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. in the field or 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. in the office, Monday through Friday, or as needed to meet business needs.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related major in the construction environment.
• Knowledge of construction-related technology, such as Bluebeam, Revit, and Procore.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with computer applications for spreadsheets, word processing, and similar tasks.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and customers.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with employees, managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Time-management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Proactive approach, with analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve potential issues or conflicts.
• Proficiency using a personal computer and software such as MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods in various weather conditions.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs.
• Track subcontractors and materials.
• Prepare project reports and correspondence.
• Compile submittals.
• Assist with survey and layout work.
• Read blueprints.
