About The Position

First Washington Realty is offering a Summer 2027 Internship Program with three available seats, each lasting eight weeks. This program provides interns with real-world experience in real estate investment management. Interns will join one specific team for the duration of the program and collaborate with the other two interns on a capstone project presented to the executive leadership team. This internship offers national experience and exposure to various departments within a leading retail real estate investment management company.

Requirements

Rising juniors and seniors enrolled full time in a real estate program or a related field such as finance or economics.
Comfortable in Excel, able to work in a spreadsheet not built by oneself.
Attention to detail.
Clear writing and speaking skills.
Curiosity about how deals are executed.
Comfort working alongside senior professionals.

Responsibilities

Research and target prospective tenants.
Build the trade-area and market story to make a space compelling.
Produce reports such as lease profiles, rent rolls, expirations, and tenant mix analysis.
Build and manipulate financial analyses in Excel.
Support live acquisitions and dispositions.
Contribute to site planning and development work behind capital allocation decisions.
Underwrite live deals and present recommendations.
Build and stress investment models.
Turn market activity from a range of data sources into actionable insights for the investment team.
Collaborate with other interns on a single asset capstone project with a live decision attached.
Present the capstone project to FWR’s executive leadership team.
