About The Position

This internship program targets exceptional candidates and is a pipeline program where successful interns may receive a full time offer to return the following year or get selected to follow an 18-month rotational professional development program within the Finance & Group Treasury Departments. We are interested in a dynamic and eager intern excited to learn about any (or all) of the following departments within the ING Americas Finance Department. This role will provide a wide range of financial exposure and provide active engagement across all areas, as you participate in routine activities, as well as special projects, in partnership across the organization.

Comfortable with Excel and spreadsheets.
Team player who is able to work collaboratively with others.
Juniors (Graduating in 2028) who are pursuing a bachelor’s/master’s degree in finance, economics or business-related field.
Minimum GPA of 3.3 on a scale of 4.0.
Good quantitative and analytical skills.
Basic understanding of financial instruments is preferred though not required.
Solid understanding of financial analysis/econometrics.
Good written and verbal communications skills.
Working knowledge of one or more of the following: Microsoft Excel, VBA, Access, SQL, SAS, and Python.
In-office work requirements depending on role.

Responsibilities

Participate in routine activities and special projects within various Finance and Group Treasury departments.
Assist with financial reporting and analysis.
Support regulatory compliance efforts.
Collaborate with Front Office, Treasury, Risk, and Finance teams.
Validate valuations and analyze profit and loss.
Review pricing models and adjustments.
Support new product approvals.
Interpret and apply US and European accounting standards and regulatory reporting rules.
Advise on the tax implications of transactions and tax strategies.
Manage U.S. tax accounting and tax compliance requirements.
Act as a strategic finance partner to business and functional leaders.
Lead consolidated Rolling Forecast (RFC) and Dynamic Plan (DP) processes.
Deliver insightful performance reporting, variance analysis, and management information.
Advise senior management on financial performance, profitability, resource allocation, and key value creation metrics.
Support the development and evaluation of strategic initiatives, business cases, and investment decisions.
Develop and monitor financial and non-financial KPIs.
Provide consolidated cost, FTE, and productivity insights.
Deliver ad hoc analysis and executive-level insights.
Oversee and manage the end-to-end contracting for the procurement of goods and services.
Liaise with Legal, suppliers, Business Units, and other relevant stakeholders to review and execute vendor contracts.
Ensure all contracts adhere to applicable external regulatory and internal requirements.
Support the execution of competitive bidding processes and facilitate the selection of qualified vendors.
Coordinate the assessment of third-party vendors prior to engagement and throughout the duration of contractual relationships via the KYS (Know Your Supplier) process for vendor due diligence.
