About The Position

This internship focuses on supporting site Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) operations. The intern will gain hands-on experience in manufacturing and site EHS functions, including safety inspections, hazard identification, incident reviews, corrective action follow-up, training coordination, and environmental/compliance documentation. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with various departments and provides opportunities for professional development through coaching, workshops, and speaker series.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field
  • Coursework in safety fundamentals, hazard identification, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, chemical safety, or risk assessment
  • Basic knowledge of PPE, SDSs, hazard communication, incident and near miss reporting, workplace inspections, corrective action tracking
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Current full-time enrollment in an accredited college or university undergraduate or graduate program in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • At least 18 years old
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Commitment to the full duration of the internship (June 1, 2026 - August 28, 2026)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing and site EHS operations
  • Experience with safety walkthroughs, hazard identification, incident and near miss review, corrective action follow-up, training coordination, and environmental or compliance documentation
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, and site leadership
  • Development of presentation and communication skills through a final presentation on work, findings, and recommendations

Responsibilities

  • Support site EHS operations through safety inspections and compliance activities (30%)
  • Incident and near miss tracking and trend analysis (25%)
  • Training coordination and safety communications (20%)
  • Environmental and regulatory documentation support (15%)
  • Improvement projects such as reporting, data analysis, and process enhancements (10%)
  • Support investigations, audits, training records, CAPA follow-up, SDS and chemical documentation, and safety reporting
  • Own assigned tracking, analysis, and administrative project tasks under EHS team guidance
