Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field, with coursework in safety fundamentals, hazard identification, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, chemical safety, or risk assessment. They should have basic knowledge of PPE, SDSs, hazard communication, incident and near miss reporting, workplace inspections, corrective action tracking, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to manufacturing and site EHS operations, including safety walkthroughs, hazard identification, incident and near miss review, corrective action follow-up, training coordination, and environmental or compliance documentation, while also working cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, and site leadership. They will receive direct coaching and regular check-ins from their manager, participate in mid-summer feedback discussions, and gain broader business exposure through internship huddles, professional development workshops, and the “Spotlight on Amneal” speaker series featuring functional leaders. By the end of the program, the intern will also develop presentation and communication skills through a final presentation on their work, findings, and recommendations.
