Our Summer Internship Program reflects BHHC and NICO's commitment to developing the next generation of insurance professionals. Through immersive internship experiences, students gain meaningful exposure to the insurance industry, develop critical business and leadership skills, and contribute to projects that drive real business outcomes. By combining hands-on experience, mentorship, and engagement with industry leaders, our program empowers emerging talent with the knowledge, confidence, and professional network needed to build successful careers and help shape the future of insurance.

• Incoming juniors and rising seniors.
• Students pursuing a variety of academic majors and backgrounds.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Basic mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent written communication, grammar, and proofreading abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• A willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute in a professional business environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete an 11-week summer internship program.
• Work a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Work 40 hours per week, beginning in late May and concluding in early August.
• Spend approximately 30 hours per week working within an assigned department.
• Dedicate approximately 10 hours per week to professional development opportunities, including: Capstone Project, Job Shadowing, Business Skills Development, and Networking and leadership experiences.
• Be involved in Employee Resource Groups for volunteering, connecting with others, social gatherings, and professional development.
• Provide input through companywide surveys.
