About The Position

Silicon Labs is seeking students for potential Summer 2027 internship opportunities through this talent pool. This program allows students to contribute to meaningful engineering and business projects, learn from experienced professionals, and build practical skills through hands-on assignments. Interns will work alongside technical teams, receive support from a manager and mentor, and may participate in technical and professional-development sessions, networking opportunities, community-building activities, and a final project showcase. Specific responsibilities, qualifications, locations, and program dates will vary by available internship. Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree program related to their area of interest.
  • An anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
  • Relevant coursework, academic projects, research, student-organization involvement, or previous internship experience.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • A willingness to ask questions, receive feedback, and learn new tools, technologies, and processes.
  • Programming experience with C, C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, or another relevant language (for Software and Firmware Engineering).
  • Experience with embedded systems, firmware, microcontrollers, device drivers, or hardware-software integration (for Software and Firmware Engineering).
  • Experience with bare-metal, Linux, or real-time operating system development (for Software and Firmware Engineering).
  • Knowledge of wireless protocols, networking, cloud platforms, APIs, SDKs, or developer tools (for Software and Firmware Engineering).
  • Experience with software testing, test automation, debugging, version control, or continuous integration (for Software and Firmware Engineering).
  • Understanding of security concepts such as secure coding, cryptography, authentication, or embedded security (for Software and Firmware Engineering).
  • Experience with electronic circuits, semiconductor devices, microcontrollers, or embedded systems (for Product, Test, and Validation Engineering).
  • Experience with laboratory testing, hardware bring-up, characterization, or failure analysis (for Product, Test, and Validation Engineering).
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, signal generators, or similar laboratory equipment (for Product, Test, and Validation Engineering).

  • Experience with data collection, statistical analysis, debugging, and technical documentation (for Product, Test, and Validation Engineering).
  • Experience with software validation, quality assurance, test planning, or defect tracking (for Product, Test, and Validation Engineering).
  • Experience with embedded hardware, firmware, software, or system-level development (for Applications and Systems Engineering).
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers, wireless systems, sensors, evaluation boards, or development kits (for Applications and Systems Engineering).
