About The Position

Freese and Nichols is recruiting for its Summer 2027 Internship Program, recognized as a Top 100 Internship Program. The program is committed to providing an experience that helps interns grow professionally, build meaningful connections, and make a real difference. Interns will contribute to meaningful work while gaining hands-on experience in their chosen engineering discipline, working alongside experienced engineers on projects that strengthen communities, improve infrastructure, and shape the future. The experience also includes opportunities to explore other technical practice areas, discover new interests, and understand career paths. Internships are designed to be immersive and collaborative, with interns working closely with experienced professionals in the office and collaborating with fellow interns. Relocation and housing stipends are not provided for internship opportunities.

Requirements

  • Current student pursuing a BS or MS degree in Civil/Environmental/Water Resource Engineering, Biological and Agricultural/Biosystems Engineering, Structural/Geotechnical/Geological Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (Water Transmission & Utilities only)
  • Graduation date of August 2027 or later

Responsibilities

  • Support project teams with calculations, analysis, and design
  • Help prepare plans, reports, and other project deliverables
  • Collect and analyze project or field data
  • Work with experienced engineers to review your work and build your technical skills
  • Use software and tools to help solve real project problems
