About The Position
The Summer Internship Program at NICO National Indemnity Company, a member of the Berkshire Hathaway group of Insurance Companies, is designed to develop the next generation of insurance professionals. This immersive program offers students meaningful exposure to the insurance industry, helps them develop critical business and leadership skills, and allows them to contribute to projects that drive real business outcomes. The program combines hands-on experience, mentorship, and engagement with industry leaders to equip emerging talent with the knowledge, confidence, and professional network needed for successful careers in insurance.
Requirements
- Incoming juniors and rising seniors.
- Students pursuing a variety of academic majors and backgrounds.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Basic mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent written communication, grammar, and proofreading abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- A willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute in a professional business environment.
Responsibilities
- Complete an 11-week summer internship program.
- Work approximately 30 hours per week within an assigned department.
- Dedicate approximately 10 hours per week to professional development opportunities, including Capstone Project, Job Shadowing, Business Skills Development, and Networking and leadership experiences.
