About The Position

SOM’s Summer Internship Program is for students planning careers in architecture, structural and sustainable engineering, urban planning, graphic design, or interior design. Interns learn from experts across design disciplines, build design and visualization skills, and contribute to world-class design projects. They participate in a range of in-person and virtual learning opportunities and events. The program runs from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027. Applicants must be returning to school in Fall 2027. The application deadline is January 18, 2027. Compensation typically ranges from $30 to $32 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, location, and education.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree program in structural engineering or a related field of study, and returning to school in Fall 2027.
• Demonstrates initiative, problem-solving ability, and attention to precision and accuracy at a task-specific level.
• Able to follow instructions and timelines for deliverables, seek guidance when needed, and escalate appropriately when required.
• Effectively communicates internally through timely and appropriate written, oral, and visual means.
• Limited experience in structural analysis, drafting, and design development.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, specifically Sheets.
• Basic knowledge of ETABS, Revit, and Rhino/Grasshopper.
