About The Position

Allegion is seeking a highly motivated Software Quality Assurance Intern to help ensure the quality of software for IoT-enabled security hardware. The role involves translating requirements into verification test plans and automated test scripts, contributing to test frameworks, running tests in CI pipelines, and collaborating with product and development teams. The intern may work on automation testing for mobile (Android/iOS), API/microservices, or web applications, and will gain exposure to AWS/Azure infrastructure, DevOps, and related tools and technologies.

This internship offers hands-on project experience, professional development, opportunities to meet Allegion leaders and peers, and mentorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; Allegion does not intend to sponsor employment visas for this position.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
• Strong knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Python, C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Resiliency and the ability to adapt quickly.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Effective listening, time management, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Desire to learn, grow, and develop through projects that impact Allegion’s business and customers.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; the company does not intend to provide employment visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Translate functional requirements and acceptance criteria into detailed verification test plans and test scripts to ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Contribute to existing automated testing frameworks to reduce defects, improve quality, and support faster delivery of high-quality software.
• Run automated tests in pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitLab, CircleCI, or similar tools.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Software Systems, and Software Development teams throughout the development process.
• Build a foundation for growth and future opportunities with Allegion.
