About The Position

Allegion is seeking a Process Engineering Intern to join their Fabrication department for the summer of 2027. This intern will be responsible for developing and maintaining processes for equipment in the fabrication department. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment and has prior experience in manufacturing. Allegion offers meaningful work, learning opportunities, professional development, and the chance to build strong relationships. This position requires onsite work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Training and experience in multi-axis robots, robot maintenance, robotic programming, and PLC Ladder Logic programming required
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.

Nice To Haves

  • Working towards Robotics Technology degree or Computer Integrated Manufacturing degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of motor controllers preferred
  • Working knowledge of proper use of abrasive products preferred
  • Ability to establish priorities and effectively manage time to complete duties within specified times

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing new processes to the plant
  • Problem-solve machining and stamping issues
  • Program CNC machines using G-Code and Conversational
  • Support rebuilds of old equipment to like-new condition
  • Identify critical spare parts and partner with maintenance to improve process reliability
  • Support shop floor layout with AutoCAD or equivalent
  • Collaborate with other plant employees and work in a team environment
  • Keep abreast of latest technology and recommend new processes improvements
  • Effectively communicate in a professional, positive manner, with all levels of the organization
  • Develop work instructions and standard work to support the shop floor
