About The Position

TKDA is seeking an undergraduate pursuing a bachelor's degree in urban or transportation planning, landscape architecture, or a related field to join its planning team in Bloomington, Minnesota for the summer of 2027. The intern will collaborate with architecture, engineering, and planning professionals and contribute to planning and community engagement services. The role provides exposure to all aspects of the planning and design process, from community and stakeholder engagement through planning documentation. The position is scheduled for Tuesday, May 25 through Friday, August 13, 2027. The ideal candidate is available to work 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime. Work is primarily from the office, though flexible or hybrid arrangements may be available in some instances. TKDA's structured internship program includes software training, networking, mentorship, social events, and learning seminars.

Requirements

Be an undergraduate pursuing an accredited degree in urban/regional or transportation planning, landscape architecture, or a related field.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Prior experience or training with ArcGIS.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or other graphic design applications.
Prior experience conducting technical data research and analysis.
Prior experience or training with 3D visualization programs, including SketchUp and Lumion.
