Summer Intern - Mechanical Engineering – AD Systems; Everett, WA. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at AD Systems, you’ll work with the engineering team as well as cross functional teams on projects covering all of the product life cycle. New product development, value engineering, product sustaining, manufacturing, and product quality. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Sophomore year must be completed by the start of the summer internship program for undergraduate candidates.
  • Minimum 3.0 on 4.0 GPA scale.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative (e.g. School club officer, sports team captain, etc or leadership on work/school projects).
  • CAD experience (preferably AutoCAD and Inventor).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in both a team and individual setting.
  • Resiliency and ability to adapt quickly.
  • Effective listening, time management, and resource utilization.
  • A desire to learn, grow, and develop by working on projects that will impact Allegion’s business and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the new product development, value engineering, and sustaining engineering teams to gain an understanding of our products.
  • Use mechanical design and analysis tools to work on projects through new product concepting, design development, and execution.
  • Fabricate and build prototypes within a manufacturing environment.
  • Learn and conduct product testing to industry and internal standards.
  • Learn manufacturing processes and practices by working with and assisting the manufacturing engineering team.
  • Perform quality analysis and learn to verify conformance of parts.
  • Work with cross-functional teams at AD Systems such as purchasing, finance, project management, and drafting while conducting projects.
  • Gain experience to create a strong foundation for growth and future opportunities with Allegion and AD Systems.
