About The Position

Mimi L. Smith & Associates, in-house counsel for State Farm, announces the Summer 2027 Intern Program for the Orlando, Florida, Claims Litigation Counsel office. Claims Litigation Counsel attorneys defend State Farm and its customers who have been sued. Summer interns work with attorneys on assigned projects, attend case events, and observe every phase of the litigation process. They benefit from mentoring throughout the summer, gain a balanced and realistic understanding of the function of Claims Litigation Counsel, and develop real-world civil litigation skills. This full-time internship runs from Wednesday, June 2, 2027, through Wednesday, August 11, 2027. The Summer Intern selected will receive a $2,000 Intern Stipend. We work in a hybrid environment with some required presence in the office. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs. Located in Orlando, Florida, we enjoy an active civil trial practice throughout Orange County and surrounding counties. We provide a congenial and team-oriented professional work environment with skilled support staff.

Requirements

2L students currently enrolled in an ABA accredited law school located in Florida
Must remain enrolled for the duration of the internship
Have at least one additional term remaining following the internship
Strong academic credentials preferred
Strong research skills including familiarity with Lexis preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
