About The Position

Step into the heart of renewable generation interconnection this summer as a Policy Intern supporting the implementation of rules regulating small generation and the development of microgrid projects at PGE. This position will also participate in the execution of PGEs first cluster study for large generation resources. As a Policy Intern, you’ll play a key role in aligning legal, regulatory, and contractual frameworks to ensure the seamless adoption of new regulatory frameworks. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience working alongside policy experts on critical tasks such as reviewing interconnection agreements, analyzing regulatory filings, and addressing the intersection of state and federal policies. You’ll help develop and refine strategies to meet compliance requirements, support stakeholder engagement, and align organizational policies with our regulator’s objectives. From collaborating with legal and technical teams to crafting clear, impactful documentation, this internship offers a unique opportunity to bridge policy with real-world energy solutions. Requirements

  • Currently an actively enrolled graduate student (recent graduate accepted) in good standing and pursuing a graduate degree, preferably in a field related to internship; GPA of 2.5 or higher preferred.
  • Some prior work experience preferred.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and a history of safe driving practices.
  • Working computer skills using MS Office Suite. (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • May perform administrative, technical or scientific tasks, such as collecting samples or completing spreadsheets, in support of department assigned.
