About The Position

First Citizens Bank’s summer internship program provides development opportunities and hands-on corporate work experience while building a talent pipeline for the Bank. Interns apply classroom knowledge and contribute to the organization and the communities it serves. This is a hybrid position, with work regularly taking place inside and outside a company office. Candidates should live within commuting distance of the Raleigh, North Carolina office. The intern will support the Bank’s accounting function through accounting work, financial analysis, and review of financial transactions. They will prepare reports and perform account reconciliations manually and using the technical accounting system, in accordance with accounting policies. The intern will learn from teams in General Accounting, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, and Reconciliation, and assist with special projects, audits, and other accounting initiatives. Work may also involve research, analytics, strategy, process review and improvement, and technology enhancements and support. The program includes professional development, informational and networking sessions, and community service events. Each intern will have a dedicated manager and program manager, and will complete a project to improve a process or solve a problem. At the end of the internship, the intern will present the project and prepare a wrap-up presentation for the division leader and other key company stakeholders. The internship dates are May 24, 2027, through July 30, 2027.
