About The Position

The Athletic and Fitness Center is seeking a responsible and organized individual with a strong interest in athletics and event management to serve as the lead student supervisor for game day operations at Chatham University. The ideal candidate will be dependable, professional, and capable of overseeing event staff and ensuring athletic contests are executed smoothly and according to established procedures. This position includes, but is not limited to, supervising clock and score table personnel, communicating with officials and coaches, ensuring equipment and facility readiness, and resolving on-site issues, as well as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Responsible and organized individual with a strong interest in athletics and event management.
  • Dependable, professional, and capable of overseeing event staff.
  • Attention to detail is imperative.
  • All current student employees should notify their other manager(s) if you work multiple jobs on campus at the same time.
  • Students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year.
  • Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.
  • Student jobs do not automatically roll over to the next academic year or summer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site supervision for game day staff and ensure all roles (scoreboard operator, scorekeeper, line judge, etc.) are properly filled and functioning.
  • Oversee and assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment and game operations areas.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between game staff, coaches, officials, and the Athletic Department during events.
  • Ensure all event staff are following proper protocols, dress code, and professional conduct.
  • Monitor event timing, help manage schedules, and troubleshoot any game management issues that arise.
  • Completing other duties as assigned by the supervisor of this position.
  • Student Staff must participate in online and in person training sessions provided by the Career Development Office.
