About The Position

Summer nutrition programs are crucial for ensuring children and young people have the nutrition they need to connect, explore, and have fun during the summer months when school is out. These programs fill the critical gap in meal access that occurs when schools are closed. Many local schools and community organizations nationwide operate these summer meal programs to provide meals to kids at no cost. The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is funded by the USDA and administered at the state level. Albany Housing Authority is seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and friendly individuals to help bring this program to the community.

Requirements

  • Must be enthusiastic, responsible, and friendly.
  • Ability to get along with children.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular visits to program sites to observe meal service operations.
  • Enforce adherence to the program rules and regulations.
  • Assist distributing breakfast/lunch meals to children of the summer food program, if needed.
  • Assist as needed to ensure the effectiveness of the program.
  • Ability to get along with children.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
