About The Position

The Parker Engineering Internship Program develops new talent by exposing interns to product engineering. Interns gain experience developing solutions to engineering challenges through problem-solving tools, analysis, analytical evaluation, and hands-on validation. This opportunity is with the Hydraulic Pump & Motor Division in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Projects are hands-on and address daily challenges as well as longer-term improvements to products, components, and processes. The intern learns to analyze problems, propose and implement solutions, and validate changes using data-driven decisions. The role adheres to all safety requirements and includes other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or advanced degree program in an engineering field.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and analytical, with the ability to review data and recommend practical solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to work with others and contribute as a collaborative team member.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Nice To Haves

• Presentation and facilitation skills.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design, development, and improvement of products and processes under the guidance of the engineering team.
• Help identify and solve equipment, product, or system issues using theoretical and practical knowledge.
• Work with production, quality, maintenance, and other departments to support implementation of technical solutions.
• Participate in and coordinate prototype builds as needed for customer opportunities and business improvement projects.
• Work with engineers to review test requirements and test setups.
• Communicate technical inquiry results to team members and document findings for future reference.
• Adhere to all safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
