About The Position

The Marlborough Public Schools are seeking Summer EL Teachers for Grades K-12 for the Summer 2026 program. The positions will run from July 6, 2026, to July 31, 2026, Monday through Friday. Teachers at the Goodnow location (Grades K-5) will work from 8:15 am to 1:45 pm and will be co-taught with General Education teachers. Teachers at the MHS location (Grades 6-12) will work from 7:45 am to 1:15 pm. A stipend of $5,000 is offered, which includes prep time (in-person). This stipend is subject to pro-ration for changes in hours and/or dates worked. Applicants should indicate their preferred grade level in their cover letter.

Requirements

Certified Teacher in appropriate grade.
Licensed by the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education as a Teacher of ESL or EL preferred.
Bachelor’s or higher earned academic degree.
Demonstrated ability to work with English language learners.
Knowledge of second language learning, standards-based curriculum, alternative method of assessment.
Familiarity with WIDA English Language Development Standards.

Nice To Haves

Ability to effectively communicate in Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and consistently monitor goals and objectives for students in accordance with the WIDA Standards and the Common Core.
K-5 requires co-planning and co-teaching with General Education teachers.
Assess Students in the summer program.
Instructs using SEI strategies.
Communication with parents.
Provide a positive structured environment, addressing grade appropriate EL standards.
Provide a positive learning environment for all students in the program.
Participate in on-going planning, implementing, and evaluation of summer curriculum.
Carry out daily responsibilities of the classroom.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Summer Building Administrator or Summer Program Coordinator or Supervisor.
