About The Position

The Sumner County YMCA is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join as Summer Day Camp Counselors. This seasonal role involves leading campers through fun and engaging outdoor activities, ensuring their safety, happiness, and growth. Responsibilities include supervising activities such as swimming and games, and creating memorable experiences for children.

Requirements

Minimum Age: 18
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience or coursework in childcare or recreation is a plus.
New Hire Orientation (before your first shift)
CPR Pro, First Aid, and AED (within 30 days of hire)
Enthusiasm, energy, and a love for working with kids.
Ability to spend up to nine hours outdoors, leading activities and ensuring campers’ well-being.
Strong communication skills and a knack for keeping things fun and safe.
Consistent availability Monday–Friday for the full season (mid-May through early August).
Ability to commit to the schedule and availability for the full season.

Nice To Haves
