About The Position

Day Camp Counselors are needed for Summer Camp from May 16th through July 31st. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and supervising an assigned group of children and youth. The role promotes quality of programs and safety of campers at all times, provides guidance and role modeling, stimulates camper participation, and ensures campers adhere to their daily schedule and camp rules and regulations.

Requirements

Six (6) months experience teaching child development or youth programs in a church preferred, any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Valid State Driver’s License
CPR and First Aid Certification

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, coordinate, and supervise an assigned group of children and youth
Promotes quality of programs and safety of campers at all times
Provides guidance and role modeling to campers
Promotes and stimulates camper participation
Coordinate and lead campers through their daily schedule ensuring punctuality and responsibility
Supervises campers during unscheduled program time and evenings
Ensures compliance with camp rules and regulations at all times
Provides constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy environment
Build and maintains effective and positive relationships with parents in order to ensure an enriching and nurturing experience for their children
Develops and implements hands-on activities which are age appropriate
Determines appropriate supplies and materials are available at all times; ensures the children’s safety in utilizing the same
Provides opportunities for physical and mental stimulation through both inside and outside activities
