About The Position

Kids Science Labs is seeking talented team members to inspire the next generation of creative thinkers and leaders for their upcoming summer camps. The role involves engaging students in hands-on projects that connect core science concepts to everyday life, aiming to inspire, engage, and have fun. The program offers a challenging and rewarding experience with training and tools to develop innovation, problem-solving, and leadership skills. This position is for the Summer Break, with camp running Monday-Friday from June 8th to September 4th. The company's mission is to teach kids how to change the world by wondering 'why' and applying innovation, design, and creativity to everyday challenges. They welcome applicants from various backgrounds, including students, nannies, and traditional teachers, as long as they can communicate well, engage children, and provide exceptional customer service. A training program is available for those outside the education industry. Creative artists, theatre majors, music educators, and child psychology majors who love helping kids learn are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Must be available for 10-14 consecutive weeks between June 1 and September 4th.
  • Enjoy being with, engaging, and adapting to children.
  • Ability to manage or help manage a classroom.
  • BS/BA degree completed or in progress (preferably in art, science, communication, early childhood education, theatre or psychology).
  • Positive attitude and a need to smile.
  • Ability to adapt and operate in a dynamic and creative environment.
  • Excitement for teaching and the adventure of learning.
  • Strong decision making skills.
  • Relate to Kids Science Labs mission and core values.
  • Desire to work successfully with and support a team.

Responsibilities

  • Engage students in a program that includes a hands-on discovery science class and two electives in art, critical thinking, problem-solving, and general science.
  • Provide instructions for engagement to 20 students with a co-teacher.
  • Support student learning and exploration.
  • Build fundamental skills in kids that lead to their long-term outperformance.
