About The Position

Galileo Learning is hiring an experienced leader to direct a Camp Galileo summer program for K–8th grade. The Camp Director serves as the site's general manager and public face, leading a seasonal team of educators and entry-level staff to deliver a joyful, safe, and well-run camp. The role oversees the camp launch and operations, program quality, family communication, customer care, and team leadership, while bringing Galileo’s mission and Innovation Approach to life for campers, families, staff, and community partners. This is a seasonal role running March–September 2027, with work divided into three phases. Training and preparation from March through June involve 5–15 hours per week, depending on tenure and start date; work is mostly flexible and remote, with scheduled and in-person commitments, training, events, and on-site preparation. Some events may be in the evenings or on weekends. On-site camp operations from June through August typically run Monday–Friday, between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, for up to 50 hours per week over 5–8 weeks, depending on placement. Wrap-up work in August and September consists of up to five total remote hours for administrative tasks and staff reviews. Compensation includes hourly pay of $23–$25 for preseason preparation and training, a weekly summer salary of $1,500 plus $50 per week for each year of returning tenure, and hourly pay of $23–$25 for postseason wrap-up. The role also offers $1 per camper-week enrollment and potential commission for add-on weeks. Compensation may vary based on factors including geography and tenure.
