About The Position

Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth (CBFY) is seeking a Summer Camp Coordinator to lead the planning and delivery of engaging summer programs for children and youth. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role, supervise a team, and make a meaningful impact in the community. The Summer Camp Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of outdoor summer programs. This role provides leadership to Camp Leaders and Volunteers while ensuring programs are safe, inclusive, and engaging for participants.

Requirements

  • Must be 15-30 years of age
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Official Refugee Protection Status)
  • Post-secondary education (completed or in progress) in Education, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of experience working with children and/or youth
  • Strong leadership, supervision, and team coordination skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Cultural awareness and ability to work with diverse communities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Standard First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Police Record Check and Child Intervention Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with newcomer or refugee populations is an asset
  • Experience with basic marketing tools or outreach is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Train, supervise, and mentor Camp Leaders and Volunteers
  • Support team development through guidance and performance feedback
  • Ensure program policies, procedures, and safety standards are followed
  • Step in to facilitate activities when required
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily outdoor program activities
  • Develop and deliver age-appropriate, inclusive lesson plans (ages 6–16)
  • Organize field trips, guest speakers, and special events
  • Ensure materials and supplies are available for program delivery
  • Monitor program budgets and resources
  • Communicate regularly with Program Team Lead regarding program updates
  • Respond to inquiries from families, schools, and community members
  • Promote programs through outreach and basic marketing initiatives
  • Build relationships with schools and community partners
  • Oversee participant registration and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure confidentiality and organization of participant data
  • Support program evaluation, reporting, and outcome tracking
  • Provide feedback to leadership on program effectiveness
