About The Position

Evercore seeks to hire investment banking Summer Associates for their Restructuring & Debt Advisory team in New York. This program offers Summer Associates the opportunity to work closely with senior bankers on significant global transactions. Associates will engage in various assignments including in-court and out-of-court restructurings, recapitalizations, exchanges, tenders, liability management transactions, distressed M&A, and non-syndicated capital raises. The role involves preparing for and attending client meetings, financial modeling, resolving complex accounting issues, analyzing financial statements and credit documents, performing valuation and industry analysis, conducting due diligence, and assisting with new business development. The small deal team structure provides a strong learning platform for all aspects of restructuring and debt advisory, allowing Summer Associates to take on significant responsibilities early in their careers. They will interact with various parties involved in transactions, including law firms, consultants, accounting firms, creditors, and other investment banks.

Requirements

Be a current First Year MBA student from a top business school or current 2L from a top law school
Several years of relevant work experience
Strong grasp of corporate finance, valuation, and financial accounting
Superior analytical skills and demonstrated excellence in academic coursework
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to articulate ideas
Outstanding communications skills, both written and oral
Great work ethic
Enthusiastic, outgoing, and achievement-oriented character
Strong interest in investment banking
Solid quantitative and analytical skills
Ability to think broadly about a range of strategic issues confronting the firm’s clients
Knowledge of accounting, valuation, finance, and business strategy is necessary
