About The Position

The Summer Associate Program at Tucker Arensberg, P.C. is designed to develop new attorney talent. The firm selects up to two candidates annually from local law schools. Summer Associates will work closely with a mentor in each practice area during a twelve-week rotation, gaining real work experience and insight into the firm's marketing initiatives and attorney development opportunities. They will attend practice group meetings and firm social events, including the Mentorship Committee, to understand the support provided to full-time associates. Successful associates may receive an offer of employment following graduation and passing the bar examination. The employment offer includes a stipend for bar exam study support. This role is not designed to contain a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities, as they may change to meet ongoing client and firm needs.

Requirements

Pursuing a degree from an accredited law school
Excellent communication skills
Solid writing and editing skills with a focus on developing thoughtful and persuasive messaging
Ability to work in and adapt to a fast-paced work environment
Strong organizational, time management, and project management mindset
Commitment to professionalism, cooperation, and teamwork
A strong drive to provide proactive, client-focused legal services

Nice To Haves

Additional clerkship or other legal internship experiences
Active Notary license

Responsibilities

Gain real work experience to see firsthand how the Firm supports new associates as they find the practice groups that interest them.
Gain insight into the Firm's Marketing initiatives to see what attorney development opportunities are available to market their practice once they are established.
Take part in practice group meetings during their rotations.
Participate in Firm social events including the Mentorship Committee to gain an understanding of the support provided to full time Associates.
