About The Position

The Summer Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher and broader school team in creating a joyful, structured, and safe environment for students during both academic programming and intersession (camp-style) experiences. This is a highly flexible, team-based role. Due to the dynamic nature of summer programming, Assistant Teachers should expect that daily classroom assignments, responsibilities, and student groupings may shift based on the needs of the building. Team members who thrive in this role are adaptable, proactive, and eager to jump in wherever support is needed. Summer programming at Atlas includes a mix of academic instruction (traditional classroom setting) and intersession programming (camp-style, hands-on learning and enrichment). Assistant Teachers will support both types of programming and should be comfortable shifting between structured academic support and more flexible, activity-based environments.
