About The Position

As a Summer Architectural Intern, you will work closely under the guidance of a Senior Designer or Architect to gain hands-on experience in architectural design and project development. This internship is designed for students early in their architectural studies who are looking to build practical skills in conceptual design, space planning, schematic design, and technical drawing. You will support project teams on real project work while learning sustainable design principles, green architecture approaches, and responsible material selection.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of an accredited architecture program
  • Strong Revit proficiency
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD (asset)
  • Experience with Rhino, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar modelling/visualization tools (preferred)
  • Ability to hand sketch and communicate design ideas visually
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Effective team collaborator
  • Interest in sustainable and innovative architectural design

Responsibilities

  • Assist in interpreting sketches, drawings, building codes, program requirements, and related project documents
  • Support the project team in preparing design documentation and presentation materials
  • Contribute to design concept development through: Hand sketches, Physical models, Digital models, Diagrams, Massing studies, Other visual or graphic tools
  • Use BIM technologies (primarily Revit) to develop 3D building models
  • Conduct research on architectural concepts, materials, typologies, precedents, and industry benchmarks
  • Assist with site visits, surveys, and field observations (as applicable)
  • Provide general project and administrative support as needed
