Analysis Group is seeking a Summer Analyst Intern for its Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Epidemiology, and Market Access Practice. The Summer Analyst Intern will work on multiple projects, engaging in quantitative analyses using diverse health care data sources and statistical tools, supporting health economic modeling, assisting with data preparation and reporting for regulatory submissions and presentations, and collaborating on team projects for conference presentations and publications. The role requires a passion for applying data and analytics to real-world challenges in the life sciences industry.

Requirements

  • Rising seniors and first-year masters/MPH candidates.
  • In-progress bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in biostatistics, economics, epidemiology, health economics, health policy, mathematics, public health, statistics or related fields.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with demonstrated experience in statistical programming, data analysis, and the application of rigorous methods to solve real-world research problems in the biopharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or health policy sectors.
  • A proactive, ownership-oriented approach to problem solving.
  • Familiarity with AI tools.
  • Passion for using data and evidence to inform strategic decisions (e.g., within biopharmaceuticals, biotech’s, device manufacturers, policymakers, etc.).
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to diverse audiences and a focus on precision and clarity.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and a collaborative, inclusive mindset, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • A strong academic record, with demonstrated attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and producing high-quality work.
  • At least a 3.3 GPA or higher in their most recent degree.
  • For candidates requiring future visa sponsorship: valid U.S. work authorization for the duration of their internship and pursuing a STEM-eligible degree.
  • For candidates expecting to rely on F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT): 36 months of OPT available at the start of the internship.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, design, and implement rigorous research methodologies and conduct analyses using wide-ranging health care data sources (electronic health records, claims data, clinical trial data, registries, and survey data) using statistical tools such as R, SAS, Stata, and others.
  • Support the development, parameterization, and validation of models such as cost-effectiveness, budget impact, and burden-of-illness models.
  • Support client submissions to global regulatory agencies and help prepare findings for internal and external presentations.
  • Collaborate across internal teams and with external experts to produce high-quality conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications, and to communicate results clearly to diverse audiences.
