About The Position

The Suite Runner is responsible for supporting Suite Attendants throughout the event to ensure exceptional guest service, efficient food and beverage delivery, and the overall cleanliness and maintenance of assigned suites. Food Runners work collaboratively with Suite Attendants to execute event operations, maintain presentation standards, and provide timely support to enhance the guest experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) degree required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Server Assistant in a fine dining restaurant or stadium suites environment.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English.
  • Requires the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, guidelines, and objectives.
  • Requires the ability to read, comprehend, analyze, and interpret general business information.
  • Requires the ability to write reports and communicate effectively using telephone, written, and electronic means.
  • Requires the ability to effectively and respectfully present information one-on-one, small, and large group situations to customers, management, and employees of the organization.
  • Requires the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Requires the ability to prepare and analyze numerical figures, create, and interpret spreadsheets.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Must be able to read and interpret financial data.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and develop solutions/strategies.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of information or instructions with several undefined and some concrete variables.
  • Requires good analytical, quantitative skills, organizational and management skills.
  • Requires the ability to use a variety of equipment and utensils.
  • Must have the ability to talk/expressing and/or exchanging ideas and hear/perceiving sounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • Food Handler’s certificate from the County of San Diego is preferred.
  • Responsible Beverage Service certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Attend a pre-shift briefing noting information which includes guest requests/allergies, service scheduling, food and beverage execution and organization’s arrival.
  • Stock spirits, wine, beer and n/a beverages prior to guests attending the event.
  • Deliver food orders from the kitchen to the assigned suite rapidly and accurately
  • Serve appetizers/snacks upon guests’ arrival
  • Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature)
  • Uphold knowledge of all menu items, ingredients and how items are prepared. Must be able to identify menu items and ingredients visually.
  • Assist Suite Attendants when needed.
  • Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items
  • Inform Suite attendant about guests’ requests (e.g. when they ask for the check)
  • Inform management about guests feedback
  • Execute opening, mid and closing duties.
  • Must comply with and ensure continued, consistent compliance with all company policies, and federal, state, and local laws/regulations including but not limited to: employment, safety, and health.
  • Other duties as assigned.
