About The Position

The SuccessFactors Architect is the accountable technical and functional design authority for Lear’s SAP SuccessFactors platform. This role owns the end-to-end architectural integrity of the platform, ensuring it is secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned with Lear’s global HR and IT strategy. The architect serves as a primary design lead for core workforce data structures, workflows, security, and integrations, balancing global standardization with legitimate regional requirements while minimizing unnecessary customization and technical debt.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in HR technology, with significant hands-on SAP SuccessFactors architecture experience in a complex global enterprise.
  • Deep expertise in Employee Central, with familiarity across other SuccessFactors capabilities and cross-functional design dependencies, including master data integrity, workflow frameworks, role-based permissions, and integration patterns.
  • Strong expertise in enterprise-grade integrations using OData, REST, Integration Center, Compound Employee, and event-based interface patterns, including payroll and time and attendance integrations.
  • Strong understanding of security architecture, sensitive data controls, audit readiness, and access governance within SuccessFactors.
  • Experience acting as a technical design authority who can drive standardization where appropriate while accommodating necessary local requirements.
  • Experience leading design through implementation partners and cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Ability to communicate architectural decisions, tradeoffs, and risks clearly to technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Own the architectural integrity of Lear’s core workforce data model, including person, employment, job, position, and organization structures, ensuring consistent downstream consumption across access management, reporting, integrations, and enterprise platforms.
  • Define the architectural direction for Employee Central and related SuccessFactors capabilities, including cross-functional design dependencies, master data integrity, workflow frameworks, role-based permissions, and integration patterns.
  • Govern platform design standards, business rules, workflow frameworks, and configuration patterns to support global process consistency and sustainable platform evolution.
  • Define and govern Role-Based Permissions, sensitive data access patterns, and control design in partnership with Information Security, IAM, and audit stakeholders.
  • Lead architecture review and change governance for platform enhancements, vendor releases, and regional requests, ensuring design decisions are documented, traceable, and aligned to global standards.
  • Establish integration design patterns and standards for inbound, outbound, batch, and event-based interfaces, with emphasis on resiliency, monitoring, security, and operational supportability.
  • Partner across HR, HRIS, Enterprise Architecture, IAM, Information Security, Integration, reporting, and regional business stakeholders to align platform design with business priorities and enterprise standards.
  • Serve as the escalation point and decision authority for platform design disputes, exception requests, and competing regional or business requirements.
