About The Position
The Substitute Van Driver fills in for regular van routes and may serve as an aide on buses when needed. The schedule is a minimum of four hours per day, five days per week. The role transports students with special needs, ages 3–26, safely to and from school. A completed online application is required.
Requirements
- Must have a State of Michigan Chauffeur Driver's License. Obtaining the certification requires requesting it from the Secretary of State and passing a written test.
- Must maintain an accident-free and violation-free driving record.
- Ability to transport students with special needs, ages 3–26, safely to and from school.
- Ability to secure car seats in the vehicle, which may require getting into the back seat.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to work well with co-workers and administration.
- A completed online application is required.
