About The Position

Magellan International School (MIS) is hiring Bilingual (English & Spanish) Substitute Teachers, which may work across Preschool, Primary, or Secondary campuses. Assignments vary from covering Lead Teachers or Specialists to supporting as Teaching Assistants.

Requirements

  • A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Education, and/or related experience or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Communicate effectively in English & Spanish, both orally and in writing
  • Experience working with children in a school setting
  • Basic computer skills
  • A criminal history background check will be required for the finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
  • If hired, you will be required to complete the federal Employment Eligibility Verification form, I-9, and present acceptable and original documents to prove your identity and authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers and teaching assistants with classroom activities, lesson implementation, and preparation of materials and displays.
  • Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization, helping to ensure a smooth flow of daily routines.
  • Supervise students independently when needed, including during lessons, lunch, recess, and carline (drop-off and pick-up).
  • Enforce classroom rules, manage student behavior, and provide general care and supervision to individuals and groups.
  • Support school operations by helping with clerical tasks, distributing supplies, and occasionally covering the front desk.
  • Follow schedules, adapt to varying classroom needs, and carry out assigned tasks with minimal direction.
  • Ensure student safety at all times by observing carefully, following health and safety protocols, and using good judgment.
  • Participate in school trainings, meetings, and events to support professional growth and contribute to the school community.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families, reflecting the school’s mission and values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, which may change at any time with or without notice.
