About The Position

The Substitute Instructor performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in designated subject area. Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to insure maximum student motivation. The Substitute Instructor maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to insure maximum learning. Maintains student personnel folders; records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area. Job Corps is the largest nationwide residential career training program in the country and has been operating for more than 60 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. College degree, trade certification, or military experience required.
• Must be at least 22 years of age per Florida Department of Education substitute teaching requirements.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
