Part-time Substitute Teacher - Garland, TX
About The Position
Kokua is seeking substitute teachers in Garland, TX, for the 2025-26 school year. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community by sparking a love for learning in students and helping to address the teacher shortage crisis. Substitute teachers will have a flexible schedule, up to 5 days a week, and the autonomy to choose assignments and locations. The role involves leading classrooms, creating a safe and supportive learning environment, and assisting with various campus duties such as lunch/recess supervision, hall monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring.
Requirements
- 1+ year(s) working with students in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, camps, etc.).
- Minimum of 48 college credit hours.
- Confidence to manage a classroom of students.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Strong belief that every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world.
- Ability to pass state & federal background checks.

- Flexibility with work hours is a plus, as some schools may have earlier or later needs.
